Maybe someone else will jump in. Until then...
The 2 machines have had different updates/patches/hotfixes installed. I
don't know what the difference is between 2254 and 2300.
Two steps I would try...
1. Uninstall / reinstall Adobe Reader.
2. From Adobe Reader> Edit> Preferences> Internet> uncheck "Display PDF in
browser."
Other possibilities:
