OK, so what's the deal with the Intel Application Accelerator? Does it do
anything useful? I mean, does it noticeably increase system performance, or
is it just another layer of basically useless code that sometimes buggers up
a system? Should I install it or just be content with the INF chipset
drivers?

I saw some improvement with scratch disks and opening of adobe products in general. I can't say whether or not its any FASTER than
DMA (btw, you sacrifice that setting when IAA is enabled)

True statement I did not use it and have no issues. Others have used
it and stated they have had issues.

all the IAA does is change some settings you could easily change yourself
(like enabling DMA) and then take away your option to change those settings
back.
