Hyperlink leaves c: drive wide open

I have a situation. Ths school in which I work has 300+ workstations and all
covered by GPO's restricting access to the c: drive, amongst other things ...
All users are restricted users. However I have come across a student(s) who
are able to gain acces to the C: drive AND make changes.
method:-
log on with a restriced account
open Word
create a hyperlink with c:\ as the target
close and use the hyperlink.

Can anyone help me stop this happening !!
