I would imagine that in the near future grisoft will alter the programming
to stop using the other servers. The extra servers (ww.grisoft.cz and com)
were taken out last year ,to give better bandwidth service to paying
customers of the pro version. The fix you used has been around since last
year but is now being posted more publicly so i assume that eventually
grisoft will either upgrade their servers or alter the avg free programming
to stop use of the servers .I can tell you that avast works fine as a main
scanner with avg as a secondary on demand scanner on a w98 machine.Just
disable the boot up scanner and the AVG control centre /reident shield.Even
though control centre is disabled you can still update defs fine and perform
on demand scanning.
