Start up is more than the foldier on start menu. Someone has a list of
about 6 different places a program could autostart from.
Start menu/programs/start up of course
The task scheduler could be set up this way.

Not a bad idea, but before you do. Try a hunt through his directory
structure -- especially the program files directory or the root (c:\
usually). Make sure you can view hidden files and system files first. See
if there are any directories with unfamiliar names, that you can't
associate with known software or other purpose. Careful, here.
Bonzai Buddy (another malware prog) for instance has a directory (or
something, I misremember) called ClickTheButton.

ITs not always the IT idiots fault. Often they can't buy software without
management permission. Telling the difference from the outside is
difficult, tho'. Given the opportunity, they'll blame management, even if
it's not true.
