Hi,

I have a network (VPN) of three PCs: one XP, a W2000 and a W98 PC,
connected through a hub. Since a couple of days the connection from and to
the XP PC is out. It cannot be seen from the two other computers, nor can
it see them. Furthermore, the XP machine is almost constantly polling the
network for some reason, creating a peak in CPU usage every second,
shutting off every other action, including mouse movement. I've tried
connecting up both with a dynamic and static IP-address, but neither works.
According to XP the networkcard is functioning problem. Since it does
notice plugging and unplugging the network cable, it can't be totally wrong
on that one. I'm not quite sure what triggered this sudden problem. The
only thing I can think of is installing some video grabbing software and
codecs. Oh, and FYI: this system has been working properly.

Any help, hints, and solutions are most welcome.

Roberto
