HELP!! D:\not a valid Win32 application.

I'm trying to install my Sims 2 game and when i double click the sims 2 icon to install it it gives me this D:\ not a valid Win32 application. and i had to game installed about a year ago but reformated my comp and never tried installing it again until now and now it just gives me that message when i try to install it again and i dont know what to do, can anyone help?

I'm using Windows XP
2.60 GHz Intel celeron processor
80 GB
512 MB
(i dont know exactly what you would want me to list about the comp!)
