My printer requires more than a half-inch margin at the bottom of the page.
Consequently, the bottom half of footers is cut off. I am not able to find
a setting for header/footer margins in IE. Could someone please help?

Thanks for your support,

Ron

You set page margins in IE-File-Page Setup.
There is nothing specific for header/footer only. The top and bottom
margins are the only relevant settings there.

Alan,

* This is an excerpt of a problem report I submitted to Hewlett Packard:

....Internet Explorer (IE) uses the device settings from the printer driver
for placement of the footer. The device settings are telling IE that the
printer can print as close as .553 inches from the bottom of the page. The
printer, however, is cutting off the footer at .65 inches from the bottom of
the page.

IE is doing what it is supposed to do. It is relying on information
provided by the HP supplied printer driver to know where it can print on the
page. Unfortunately, the driver is telling IE that the printer can print
closer to the bottom of the page than it actually can.

I am using the HP OfficeJet 600 Series All-in-One Driver rev. 1.0 for
Windows XP... I need a driver that will accurately report the printer's
capabilities to applications such as IE.

* Here is their response:

I acknowledge your efforts. The Officjet 600 does have a bottom margin
setting of .55 inch (+/-0.02). But the printer is cutting off more than
that. To find the cause of the issue please check the print preview and the
page setup setting for the bottom margin from the application you are trying
to print. It is seen that Internet Explorer (I.E) has limit of .666 inch as
the minimum limit for bottom margin in Portrait mode. This is limitation of
the application and not the Officejet. For information on these setting you
have to refer the help menu of the application or the application
manufacturer.

* Where are the inaccuracies in the conflicting information above? Is the
problem in IE, the printer driver or the printer hardware? How should I
proceed from here?

Thanks for your support,

Ron
