XP, SP2

My windows can not re-detect my new hardware anymore -> can not install the
hardware.

I previously had to uninstall ATI catalyst drivers -> now I have the default
VgaSave drivers. When I use the "add new hardware" feature, it can not find
the new uninstalled video card anymore? No matter what I do, I even cleaned
the registry not to contain any "ATI"/"radeon" references.

Do I need to switch back to my old video card first and then to switch back
to the new one and hope that the new hardware is found?

Hi ... Try installing your ati card in a different slot , You didn't mention
what kind of problems you are having with ATI card , why did you uninstall
it ? Here also is a good tech forum site for ati , take a look below

You need to download and install the new Catalyst drivers from ATI Website.
