I have a "Mass Storage Controller" ( i.e. a USB external
hard drive ) that will not install correctly on my system.
On my other 2 computers the win2000 system installed
the same device via plug and play no problem. If I
uninstall the device and remove the external hard from
the computer my system still wants to install the wrong
drivers after boot up ( I can not locate the correct
drivers or the setup.exe ). How can I remove the
conflicting "Mass Storage Controller" from my win2000
system permanently and show no record of it ?

Unfortunately this doesnt work either. the "Mass Storage
Controller" was removed in safe mode and reinstalled in
regular mode.
