I am somewhat confused about it. What would be the best settings for video
capture and editing with the P4P800 DeLuxe. . I plan to buy 2 Hitachi 7K250
hard disks.

1 hdd IDE + 2 hdd Serial ATA Raid 0
2 hdd IDE (jumpers set on master and alone in the IDE slots). How do I
connect my 2 other ATAPI devices then ?

Last question, if choosing SATA with the P4P800 DeLuxe, will WinXP recognize
the drives or do I have to install the drivers from a floppy during
installation ?

What solution would you recommend to me ?

Daniel

XP's SATA drivers are located in SP1.

Put two large drives UATA 133 or 100 in RAID0 on the VIA IDE RAID
controller. Select max stripe.

Put your boot/os/program drive on SATA1 or 2. During WinXP install, hit F6
to load the Intel SATA drivers if you require the SATA RAID at some point.

You can put your boot/os/program drive on the standard IDE controller, and
then choose either the VIA IDE RAID or the SATA Intel RAID for your capture
drives. I think performance is about the same for either config. Some folks
have had trouble with dropped frames with the VIA IDE RAID controller.
