I'd been waiting for it to come down in price and on Monday I ordered it from Amazon for £14.62. As I'd also purchased one other item around the same value I got free postage, Amazon promised delivery within ten days.

It arrived Thursday.

I have to say - absolutely the best racing game I've ever played.

Well, I think it is, I'm a bit crap at it so far but it's been a long day and I've drunk several Guinnesses

The whole engine, the dynamics, are great. Handling is a nice cross between realistic and arcade, the damage is good too.

I'll have to play this when I'm less inebriated but this is just a heads up to anybody else who's been waiting for price to fall - Amazon is the place to get it, it's still 25 quid at Play.com.

It matters not who's the quickest to get a game, not to me, anyway.

It does seem to be of great importance to you though.

I paid less for it than you did, but ok, you've had it and finished with it.

Yes, you 'reviewed' it ages ago.

Ok, I now feel foolish for mentioning it.

But let this thread stand to let people know that if you wait long enough, games get cheaper.

In the case of GRID, this is worthwhile, cos this was one game I was not going to pay full price for. Codemasters are not friendly, DIRT was a shambles, to make my point.

Thank you for your reply

Ah no no, i was referring to the graphics tweaking, nothing else, i just linked to the post coz i was being lazy.

Not trying to say anything else mate, really sorry if it looked that way..

What i meant to say was this...

If you want, and i have done it here you can try this. Its an Ultra high graphics mod for Grid. Makes it look even better!

V_R, all is cool, I was probably tired and emotional when I posted that, the Game is new to me and I was kinda excited about it so I just had to post

I was also thinking about getting a steering wheel, a year ago I ordered the Saitek R660 wheel from Scan but it was faulty so it kinda put me off of that one. It costs £43.23

Anybody had any experience of that wheel?

Other contenders are:

Logitech G25 but at £150.00 that's more than I want to pay for a steering wheel.

Thrustmaster Ferrari at around £75.00

Thrustmaster Rally GT at £75.00

Amazon list quite a lot of steering wheels but few, if any, say they'll work specifically with Vista.

So if anybody has any first hand experience of a good steering wheel that works with Vista, I'd be pleased to hear about it.

I'd be interested in a wheel too, but not sure whats good, i see the Logitech Formula Force gets good reviews though.. dunno if its good for vista though? But only £40.

EDIT: Logitechs site says yes to vista.

EDIT2: No gear shifing?

It has wheel mounted paddles that you probably use as gear change, a la Ferrari.

That's worth considering isn't it? Thinking.
