Greyed-out third party icons

In IE6sp1, programs added after initial installation have their icons displayed as normal on the toolbar but are greyed-out and there is no response from them at all
The programs are Copernic, IESpell and Frontpage 2000. OS is winXPpro

In Tools> Internet Options> Advanced, "Enable third party browser
extensions" should be checked.
