GPO over WAN links

I have enabled a GPO and noticed that it doesn't apply
over WAN links. It applies OK on the LAN where I have the
DCs, but on other sites where I don't have DCs the GPO
doesn't apply, and the Event Log displays an event ID
1054 "Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name
for your computer network. (An unexpected network error
occurred.). Group Policy processing aborted.". But the
computer is able to join the domain, authenticate to the
domain and do everything domain related, but aply the
GPO. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi Mihai,

The following article should be helpful:

Thanks guys, very fast response, I appreciate it.

I disabled the "slow link detection" and lowered
the "slow speed" to 0. Anyway, I forgot to tell you an
important info: I have a full T1 line link between sites.
But after all, I still have the same behavior: GPO not
applied and the same event ID 1054. And the GPO had
already replicated among the DCs. GPRESULT gives me "The
user "domainname\testuser" does not have RSOP data". Any
other ideas? Thank you anyway!

Correction:

"Assuming the policies are being applied to XP client"

- XP clients "by default" have optimized logon.
