Hello everyone! Read posts on anti-virus. That made sense. I'd received an
update on MacAfee last week--after that--not able to send e-mail. Mail stuck
in Outbox. I followed the post on getting rid of the outbox problem
(thanks!) I uninstalled MacAfee--however, as the posts said and did the
Avast-yet it seems to be scanning as long as it took Moses to crossed the
desert --days- literally. Is that normal or did I mess up? It's ok, I won't
cry if you tell me I messed up. I have ice cream to soothe.

On sending e-mail I got this error:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Fw: hey', Account: 'Home', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

Should I switch to Windows Live Mail? Would I lose mail/address book if I
do?

Thanks in advance for your help.

When you first install it it can take quite a while to do its initial
scan of the system and create a recovery database.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The error I received to send mail:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes

Can it be corrected or is changing to Windows Live Mail the best remedy?

It is a good idea to delete and recreate your email accounts after
replacing antivirus software.

As for WLM... it is winning advocates.

See the error message. "Secure (SSL)" should be Yes instead of No.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced,
and make the correction there.
