My new shuttle xp case/board has no gameport onboard. My forcefeedback wheel
and joystick (microsoft expensive ones!) are not USB connectors. NE1 know if
u can get convertors? Only other options are as I see it...
(1 buy new contollers -ouch!
(2 plug in a sound card into, the one and only PCI slot and use that cards
gameport. If I do that....is it poss to still use onboard sound (5.1), or
would I need to load all sound card drivers and poss get conflict?
Suggestions as the best way to go please.

Have seen the USB to game port converters all over. Just have to look
around a little. They seem to be in all the office/discount stores around
here.

Do you mean USB to Gameport?

If so, check out

I have seen this same converter on sale at many other places too.

You could plug in the cheap sound card and install the drivers. Then if
you get the conflicts disable the drivers you don't need in the device
manager. There's a good chance you won't have a problem directly but
windows was not designed to run two sound cards so the problems
usually occur if you want to use both sound cards for multi media
programs like Windows Media Player etc.
As you aren't bothered about this you should be ok.

I have two Logitech devices that will convert from USB to game port
but I don't know about the other way round.

If you have APIC on the mother board and enabled and in the O/S then
it's better at sharing IRQS than the older win9X/ME anyway so that
shouldn't be an issue once setup correctly.
email is in sig if needed.
