do, in fact, have safe instructions which don't add more spyware to your
machine, or require information from you.

So-those are the first routes I'd take. Versions of Gain earlier than a
certain number don't uninstall, though. If you've got one of those, you
could try contacting Gain support as the above link suggests, or if the
machine is running Windows 2000, XP or 2003, you could use Microsoft
Antispyware, which should do the job just fine:
