Why use this?
1)Vista instead of improving the defrag interface, it removed it all!!! Now
you stare at a throbber
going round and round.. with no clue of the progress or when it will end, or
how much your HDD has fragmented.

2) Vistas Defrag runs as a service...
ARGGGG Horrible idea! I knew programs that added a defrag service and
avoided them like the plague for this reason: They thrash your disk and you
don't know if something strange is going on on your pc or if its the defrag
working. Also services running in the background use up resources.
I personally disable the defrag service. If you are a poweruser I am sure
you want control over your computer.

and finally Vista should have had an OPTIONAL upgraded version of the NTFS
system that would never need Defrag in the first place.
This is possible with linux filesystems... even though some vistaboys will
never believe it and ask for whitepapers.

MS had 5 years to do this... but guess what? Its easier for them to slap in
a service thrashing your disk all the time,
than make a better OS!

You are totally and I mean totally clueless aren't you? It there
something inherently wrong with your brain(if you've even got one!).
Do you know what a "white paper" is cause from your postings it's
apparent you don't have a clue what that means.
Let me make a suggestion that will save your face...forget Vista and use
only XP and urbuttoo ok?
Friendly advice...take it.

So looking at the defrag-interface in XP is like some kind of a security
blanket for some.
Defrag in Vista does not have one (interface) and defrag works when the
computer is idle. So who cares. It's meaningless.
Want to do you own defrag and see the interface...get something like
PerfectDisk.
I use it.

Why don't you just post the complete Vista HELP documentation and report on
each and every issue that just might come up. Then when I click on
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general, I'll see thousands and thousands of
posts by Tiberius.

That way the wife and I will know that you are busy at the computer and not
out molesting innocent people.

Then the Wintard goes on to say he uses PerfectDisk just so he can watch his
Sea Drive defrag (DUH!!!!) ...

Where do you find the time Frankie Boy? Between posting your bullshit here
and watching PerfectDisk defrag your Sea Drive, it looks like you have very
little time to run your 6 employee marketing company. I guess, something
has to suffer, so **** on the company and watch your Sea Drive defrag.
Seems like time well spent. <snort> Hmmmm, then again, your company (if it
exists other than in your mind) is probably better off with your absence.
<smirk> Can't imagine your "employees" like to watch you prance around the
office, snorting and smirking like you do in this newsgroup and
accomplishing NOTHING. BTW, did you wipe XP off all those 'puters yet and
now only run Fista? Must have been a busy weekend. Hope all went well. Now
when you boot one of those boxes, you don't have such a big decision to
make ... "will it be Vista or XP this session? Which one should run the
SpamBots today?"

Love and Kisses,
Doris

I defrag when I want to , not microsoft.
And the option to see what % is WAS up to was very handy.
I could slip down to the bar and have a couple of beers, knowing thatit
would be finished when I got back.
thus it did not interfere with my work

Your other arguement that is will defrag from scheduler when idle doesn't
wash; I turn my computers OFF at night.

wake up, COCKHEAD
