I have been beating my head against the wall trying to get a simple form results to e-mail back to me from a FP 2002 website I created. I know the host is using FP 2000 server extensions and they have been trying to help. The form results do not seem to want to e-mail back to me (the e-mail recipient) and I continue to get a "check your server logs" error.

Any thoughts as to how to address this plague

As long as the site has the FP2000 or FP2002 extensions, and the host has
configure the email function, it should work.

However, is the email address that you want to receive the email at, within
your web site's domain, in other word, using the mail server of your web
host?

I believe it is on the same server that is doing the hosting. I can change it to a completely different e-mail server and test that, if it will help....

Was this form created directly on the remote server or did you create it on
your local machine and then published it via FP's http mode to the remote
server?

You are trying to e-mail the form results to the wrong e-mail address.
The form needs to send the e-mail to:
anyname@finrisk,com

anyname = anything you want.

You must either created directly on the remote server in FP or you must use
FP to publish the web to the remote server via FP's http mode or it will not
work. All FP run-time component must be published via http and using FTP
will in many case corrupt the extensions, requiring your host to re-install
them for your account.

I just changed it today to (E-Mail Removed) as a test. Normally it would go to (E-Mail Removed) . When I submit the form now, I get the dreaded error message of "FrontPage Run-Time Component Page. You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly. This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed."

Tihs usually means I have to call the hosting company and have them remove then reinstall the extensions. They are getting tired of my calls.......lo

How do I force my local FP to publish in http instead of FTP? I can't find a setting that tells it to publish in this mode. I can't tell you how appreciative I am for your continued assistance.

Open your local web via File Menu | Open Web, then File Menu | Publish Web
and enter the destination as http://www.finrisk.com however before doing
this have your host re-install the extensions and if you avoid using FTP in
the future this should be the last time they will need to do this for you.

O.K., I've got it working now.....WHEW !!! I removed all of the files and directories from the /assured sub-directory, then I had the hosting company remove and reinstall the extensions, then I re-published using the http method. and VOILA !! IT worked !!

The form results came through to my e-mail like a charm !!
