Unfortunately, you've learned one of the basic principles of upgrading
software: Never upgrade over a problem.
The XP CD has everything you need to format your hard drive and reinstall
the operating system. Just boot from the CD and follow the prompts.
Note: If you purchased an upgrade version of XP, you'll need your Windows ME
CD to do the install.
