I have a trouble with local and domain accounts. I installed XPPro Corp on a
couple of different types of machines to build an image for every type. After
that I joined NT4 domain, installed printers, installed additional software,
did some changes with regedit and policy editor, and then I noticed that on
each machine I have local administrator account with computer name in
extension, but my domain administrators don’t have name of the domain to
identify domain admin. Example: In Documents and settings folder, Local
administrators will have folders named administrator.master1,
administrator.master2, administrator.master3 (where master1, master2 and
master3 are names of the machines)… and domain admin will be just
administrator. I expected to have domain admin presented as
administrator.domainname and local admins with no extension (just
administrator).
The problem is: after I do sysprep (leave domain, configure mini setup,
reseal), create an Ghost image and deploy it to different machine, it will
carry on local administrators name from master machine, so local admin on
machine Client1 will have name administrator.master1.
How can I change this so local administrator wouldn’t have local machine
name in the profile name in Documents and Settings folder, but domain admin
will have domain name in the extension of the administrator name.
