You cannot fax in the old fashioned method with a digital modem (cable,
broadband or DSL) and a broadband connection. You need an old fashioned
analog modem connected to a plain old fashioned telephone line.
If all you have is the digital modem (stop thinking of it as a modem but a
network card connecting you to a giant network, the internet)..... then you
can use an online fax service like
www.efax.com
