Seems like favicons hardley ever work. I know they've worked before but
after a while they stop.

Hi,
Favicons are stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Newer files
eventually push them out (replace them.)

Here's the hands-on method of saving them.
Favicons are in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Search the TIF folder
periodically for *.ico Copy any icons you want to save to another folder.
Right-click the internet shortcut> properties> change icon. They'll be saved
then, even after newer files would have pushed them out of the TIF folder.

Favorg is easy to use and is still available for free from
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm > line 108.
The favorg article is at http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,108438,00.asp

FavIconizer from
http://www.codeproject.com/tools/fav...arget=favicons will save
favicons for you. It's a good program and it's free. I found registration at
http://www.codeproject.com/ to be a bit of a pain, but I've been through
worse ;-)

I knew about saving them to another folder etc, I was just wondering if
there might be a way to maybe uh...prioritize icons or something from being
deleted and stuff.

Thanks for the links though. I'm checkin em out.
