I have had no problem with outlook until 7 days ago and
now I can send email (SMTP)on Outlook 2002 but cannot
recieve email (POP3). I have 2 different POP3 accounts
and niether now work.

When I did the "test account settings" 4 out of 5 test
are complete including finding the incoming POP3 server,
however, "Log onto incoming mail server (POP3)" Failed.
Username, passwords and POP3 server information all have
been checked. Email can be downloaded on my laptop which
leads me that some setting got changed. The only thing
that happened prior to the problem... we did an Groekster
update.

Please send any possible solutions.

Check with your ISP to see if they changed the authentication - or you can
go to the server tab on your mail account properties and check "My server
requires authentication" and then check the option to use the same as for
your incoming mail.

What error message do you get when you try and actually download (not in
"test account")? Also, have you tried backing out the Grokster update?

If the server names are correct in your accounts (which seems likely - I
doubt you'd make typos in two separate accounts), it sounds like something
is blocking access. Do you perhaps have a firewall on the computer with
this problem? If so, make sure that port 110 is open (though I'd fully
expect it to be by default). Do you have any anti-virus/anti-spam software
installed? If so, try turning it off or uninstalling it to see if it might
be the problem.
