Hi Group...

Has anyone out there got any ideas why the following is happening...

My problem scenaro is this:

I have a large Excel file that has been created on a machine running Win
XP - Excel XP

It is opened by a colleague using Win NT - Excel 97... so far the data looks
identical

However, when data is copied and pasted into an Access 97 database on the
same machine some of the entries that begin with 0001 are changed so that
they begin with 3. E.g. 0001992236546 becomes 3992236546.

I have searched the knowledge base but can't find an adequate explanation
for this...

Can anyone offer any help or is this just a case of "Your version of Excel
is too old to work properly with Excel XP"

Thanks in advance
