I have Excel 2007 on a new PC. I understand that Excel 2007 recalculates in
a slightly different manner when opening an Excel 2003 file versus a Excel
2007 file. Is there any way to make Excel 2007 not recalculate the Excel
2003 files upon opening? I would still want Excel 2007 to recalculate the
Excel 2007 files upon opening, I just do not want this recalculation to
happen when an Excel 2003 file is opened. Any fixes??? Registry, VB, Group
Policy??? Thanks.

Hi Don,

By design, all versions of Excel automatically recalculate workbooks last saved by an earlier Excel version when those workbooks are
opened. AFAIK you can't change this behaviour.
