When I use the event viewer, I have items in the Application and System
headings but nothing under Security. Is this normal? What is actually
supposed to be recorded under the security heading? Thanks.

you might chk your 'remote svc' - and
security log - uses such 'audit id's as these - ie
events - 520 - 528 - 615
just go to this site for 'id info' - ie

http://www.eventid.net/search.asp

and take it fr there

Thanks hutch. I don't have any events to look at under the security
heading. Should something be configured there and if so, how do I do that?

You can go to Local Security Policy under programs -> admin tools and turn
on the security settings that you want to audit
