I have a windows 2003 server (also my exchange box) that recently has been
receiving the following error at 4:00am.

The device Root\LEGACY_NAVEX15\0000 disappeared from the system without
first being prepared for removal.

What is NAVEX15? How can I solve this?

I've found that NAVEX15 is related Norton Anti Virus. After scouring
through the event log, I noticed that NAV updates it's virus definitions at
4:00am. For every instance of error 11, there was a successful virus
definition update. I'm assuming now, that Norton is disconnecting after the
update and not warning the server first. I still don't know how to fix
this, so any information would help.

I need to clear temporary the event sinks from another event and then restore them, but I don't know which methods signed up for that event Serge Shimanovsky Microsoft Dot NET 1 14th Apr 2005 06:37 AM
