The easiest fix for this problem is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

I get this message too. I was wondering if it has something to do with IE8?

I think I've read that at least one of the beta versions of IE8 causes
problems in Windows Mail, and that IE8 isn't out of beta test yet.

You can try the rather laborious procedure for resetting Windows Mail:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/62...-problems.html

Scroll down that page and read the section entitled "How to Backup
and Reset Windows Mail."

The only way to find out is to roll back to IE7.
I had the IE8 beta on my machine only a few days when I decided it
was way too buggy, and I uninstalled it.
