I created a new database about a month ago and its been
working with no problems. Today when I tried to open it -
I am getting the following error message "Microsoft Jet
database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the
same time" This program is on a stand alone computer. I
hard booted and I still get the same message. How can I
get back into my database ?
Thanks - George

I checked - no other files in directory.

Does this happen when you first open the database?

Maybe it's corrupted.

Make a backup.

Try compacting your database using Jetcomp, available at
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=273956

If that fails, try creating a new database and importing objects from the
old.

Yes - It happens as soon as I double click on the icon for
the database. I tried your advice to create a new database
and import the items but it stops and gives the same error
message. I will try the program you mentioned.

Thanks - George
