I'm browsing fine with a cable modem but when I go Start> Help and Support>
Find compatible hardware and software for Windows XP > I end up with this
error message "Internet Connection Could Not Be Established". It then
prompts me to see if my modem is turned on and other not so useful questions.
I'm surfing already, I just want to access the Windows features that send me
to appropriate Online places like help desks and such but the computer
doesn't seem to realize that I've got a Internet connection. It could be a
problem with Modem compatability but mine is very very common (Motorola
Surfboard SB5 100) but as I supposedly don't have a connection I cannot
follow Windows Help And Support center link to a list of Modems that have
compatability issues with XP. Appreciate any help. BTW, I'm trying to use
the "Compatible Hardware/Software" feature to make some semi older games run
on XP (no, running on compatibility mode didn't help)
