I'm getting a similiar error to this described in :
Q315352

I have checked the registry, but I don't have the entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Common Administrative Tools

I did upgrade from Win98 to WinXP. Should I have this
line in the registry?

My exact error is:

Error 1606. Could not access network
location ::\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

Any thoughts on what to do next?

Cindy

Add the entry with a value data of
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu\System\Administrative Tools
Also add an entry "Common Desktop" and set this to
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Desktop
