Hi,

Anyone knows why is it that whenever I print a black n white picture it prints
it in black/white and dark green... and the only way to avoid that is by
setting the Printer's Property options to print with just the black ink,
however when I do that even though it prints only in b/w then the contrast
doesn't come out as strong as it should be (the picture becomes much lighter),
yet the contrast works well when printing in color...

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Many printers use the colour inks to improve the number of grey levels. The
problem is if you mix colour you don't get pure grey but grey with a colour
tint that depends on the inks and the paper. If the colour tink is very
noticable the result is said not to be very "neutral", "warm" or "cold"
depending on the colour. To get round this some modern photo printers (eg
Epson 2200/2100) have a "Light Black" cart as well as a Black.

One answer to this is colour management. Are you using a colour managed
application like Photoshop or Qimage to do your printing, and are you
selecting an appropriate profile for the paper/ink combination you are
using? OEM profiles are available for Epson papers, and some 3rd party
paper suppliers also have profiles for the 1280 on their web sites, e.g.
Olmec, Tetenal, Ilford.
