Enter network password never goes away

I am trying to configure my email to work with a Pop3 account on a new laptop
computer. I already have it installed on my desktop computer using the same
settings but can't get it to work on my laptop. Not sure if it is a problem
with having the same program on two different computers? When the error
message comes up it is able to send to the server but not receive from the
server
