If I delete a user account, what happens to the associated
applications/programs?

Context: old user account has some programs used only by that person. Some
are shared applications. What effect, if any, is there on these apps when
the user account is deleted? Can I after removing that user, use Add/Remove
to remove those apps? Thanks.
