Had to re install FP 2002. Now when I need to edit my web
site, I am unable to get FP to open. Normally, when my
home page is up on the screen, I can click "file" on the
toolbar at top of page, and then select from the drop
down menu "edit with MS front page". For some reason,
that selection is no longer there. I see it when viewing
some other pages, but not when my web site is open.
Occasionally it is there. Where is it (the drop
down "edit in MSFP" option)and/or how do I get it back,
so that I can work on my web site? Thanks for any advice.

if that option is not in the File menu it could be an icon on the tool bar -
right hand end - looks like the FP icon that you'd have on your desktop. The
icon in IE (if you use that) is next to the print icon on my machine. but I
think you can swap the icons around so it may be different for you. Otherwise,
if you right-click the tool bar, choose "Customise" and choose the edit command
from the "customise' dialogue.

Perhaps also under advanced options, the option to edit from IE to Frontpage is
not enabled?

I use IE 6.0 and I see both the icon and the menu item in my particular set-up.

Try an Internet Explorer group - I think it is an IE feature, not a frontpage
feature.

alt.comp.apps.browsers might be useful.....or any of the microsoft.public groups.

further to my other reply,
the edit with..... feature is an IE feature and will usually have I think the
'default' HTML editor on it - so if someone used Dreamweaver I expect it would
have "Edit/Open with Dreamweaver".....mine has "Open with Frontpage", but also
"Open with Microsoft Word" and "Open with Notepad".

Or it determines what application(s) on your system can also edit HTML (Probably
MS Publisher as well if I happened to have it).
