I am trying to master using a form to get the parameters for an access 2007
query using the example in the help screens. Is there a way to edit macros

Willy,

Yes, you can edit macros. It depends whether it is an embedded macro or a
saved macro. If it's a saved macro, right-click the name of the macro in
the Navigation Pane, and select Design from the popup menu. If it's an
embedded macro, then put your cursor in the property sheet for the property
the macro is embedded to, and click the little ellipsis (...) button to the
right. In both cases you end up in the macro editor window.

Having said that, I can't quite relate this to your original statement about
using a form to get criteria for a query. How is a macro involved in this?

Thanks Steve
I found the macros and checked them. I am trying to get a date query to use
a form to get the parameter dates. I am doing it as outlined in the access
help article "Make a quey ask for input." When the query is ran the form does
not open but if I open the form in advance and enter dates the dates are used
by the query. The macros are in the date range form and I don't seem to be
able to create them as saved ones so that they can be seen in the navigation
pane. I am puzzled. I have also posted this in the query section

Willy,

The behaviour you have described is expected. The form will not, and can
not be made to, open when the query is run. If the query uses criteria
based on the values of controls on a form, then the form has to be open in
advance.

As for the macros, it sounds like you are using Access 2007 and they are
embedded macros. That is fine... but they won't appear in the Navigation
Pane.
