May be more trouble than it's worth, but try this:
On the cell you want to copy from, press F2, then use the keyboard
techniques to navigate & select within the cell. When you naviga

te to the cell to paste into F2 won't erase the Clipboard.
The only other option I know of would be to clear the check in
Tools>Options>Edit for Edit Directly in Cell. That causes F2 to jump you to
the Edit Field of the Formula Bar. Select & copy there, then move to the
target cell, F2, navigate & paste.
