edit and line breaks in email

's Computer Specifications

I have accidentally hit some thing on my keyboard as I was typing an email
and now have an edit function showing me dots on line breaks and a backwards
"P" at the end of a sentence, every time I type an email.
Can someone please advise how I remove this editing function.
