When you convert to dynamic disk, three things happen:
1. the primary partition types change to 42h
2. the PRIVHEAD is written to sector 12
3. a 1MB LDM database is written to the end of the disk.
Which of the first two does Windows use to detect a dynamic disk? Or, which of
the first two would I have to restore to convert back to basic disk?
Say I have a multiboot (DOS, NT, 2K) disk and change it to dynamic. Can I
hack the partition table by restoring the first two's partition type, so that
they will boot? A sort of basic/dynamic hybrid, unsupported of course.
