I have a windows 2000 server configured with 7 disks using
hardware raid 5. In disk manager it shows one Disk disk(0)
with two logical drives on This primary partition
partition C:\ and D:\ it is set as a Basic disk.

I want to add another disk to D:\ this is possible rite"?

just change the disk to dynamic, then i can expand it once
the drive array utility sees the disk?

although C:\ is in this drive array is should be no
problem rite?. being that im not expand the c partition...

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

From your description, I think that you are using a hardware RAID 5
controller, which should have the capability of adding space to the
container. After adding the new hard disk, you will find that a new
unallocated area is appended to the current Disk(0). Then please use the
steps below to extend D:.

Note:
1. Please pay more attention to these steps because configuring disks
incorrectly can cause very serious problems.
2. If necessary, please contact your hardware RAID 5 controller
manufacturer for configuration steps on the hardware level.
3. We do not need to change the disk to dynamic since the current disk is a
Basic disk.

Please let me know if anything is unclear. Thanks!
