Hi group!

(Crossposted to Red Alert and Windows groups)

I have borrowed Red Alert (V. 1.08PE, with the updates RA108USP and
CCGOLDXPATCH) from a friend, and throughout the last weeks, and I've had no
big problems. Until now. (OK, I had to google a little to find a soulution
for the kernel32.dll problem, but forget that!)

The problem comes everytime I play skirmish with self-made maps, while the
standard maps works fine. It came a couple of times through the whole Allied
campaign as well. It makes the game stop responding, so that I have to end
its process.

The messagebox gave me this information:

---------------------------
dwwin.exe - Application Error
---------------------------
The exception Breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached. (0x80000003) occurred in the application at
location 0x77f75a58.
---------------------------

My Windows version is XP Home Ed. SP1, with all important updates.

I have tried changing the compatibility settings (Set to Win95, with all
checkboxes checked) and searching Google for Web and Newsgroups, but I
didn't get anything from that. The problem does not come with the DOS
version.

I hope you're able to help, so that the fun can continue! If you need more
information or something, just ask!

Hi Martin,

Sounds like those custom made maps just won't cut the
mustard. Use the plain maps, or create your own custom
maps using your current configuration. The ones you are
using now were probably made with another "version" of
the game. Too bad you can use those maps now though.

You seems to be right. I tried to reinstall it, and -- my new maps (those I
made after the reinstallation) worked, but not the old one. It's strange
though, but I don't want to bother anymore. It wasn't a lots-of-work-map
after all.

I'll survive!

Thanks for your advice
