First of all dwwin.exe (Dr Watson) is an error reporting tool not the problem itself, it report the error to an Event Log in the Event Viewer for any error report for a program didn't release the memory while the computer shut down, like your Anti-Virus or other Third-Party applications. So it will be wise if you look in your Event Viewer log and see if there are any Error Messages (X) caused by Applications/Hardware and double click (X) to get more Info and you can copy & Paste them in your next post for us to have a look and hopefully one will give you the right procedure to cure this issue. To access the Event Viewer do the Following: Open a run command and type in the input box: eventvwr click [OK] / Hit [Enter] on your keyboard. Here you are on the Event Viewer you will see three Folders: Application Security System By clicking on each you will see the Event Log for it in the Right pane/window look for any Red X and double click it get the exact Error and the application name. The following are the errors I found.
Application Log: TV tuner malfunction. (0x80040265) Hauppauge WinTV USB Tuner (M/N) Security Log: 1. The server {F3A614DC-ABE0-11D2-A441-00C04F795683} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. 2. The time provider NtpClient is configured to acquire time from one or more time sources, however none of the sources are currently accessible. No attempt to contact a source will be made for 14 minutes. NtpClient has no source of accurate time. 3. Time Provider NtpClient: An error occurred during DNS lookup of the manually configured peer 'time.windows.com,0x1'. NtpClient will try the DNS lookup again in 15 minutes. The error was: A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host. (0x80072751) "nass" wrote: > > > "dstar" wrote: > > > I got this on 2 computers when shuttin off. > > > > What is this? Hi, You have a conflict or a bad Driver on the TV Turner and your NIC?. Open the Device Manager and look for any Malfunctioning or Conflicting Devices and uninstall it then Reinstall and see if that will help. Also try to run the updates for these Devices and get the latest drivers updates from the Manufacturer website. My Devuce Manager shows everything working properly. I have contacted Hauppauge and am waiting for an answer. I noticed on their site that there are updated drivers, but I am going to wait till they answer to see if those are any different than what I've already got.
