DVD and CRW drives going very slowly

Check your IRQ's. Looks like there is a conflict.

Windows sets the IRQ's, so on install it is possible that
the IRQ's are reset. You can use msinfo to check on the
IRQ's.

Thanks for the tip, Erwin.

Went to the device manager, checked my IRQ's as recomended.

Saddly enough, everything is calm on that front.

All devices have different numbers (connections?) beside
their descriptions, except for the USB host controlers (4)
that share the same one. I assumes that to be normal.
Right?


Any other tips? I'm getting a bit fed up of having a new
computer that runs more slowly than my old laptop!
