I have installed windows xp on an SATA HD on a PCI SATA
card. I have no hard drive on regular IDE channels. I have
on IDE 0 a cd burner and dvd burner. Both worked OK when I
had my xp install on an IDE drive. Everything works fine
except that I can't complete a burn on either drive. Both
show in device manager as scsi drives, though they are not.
I've tried IDE 1, I've tried uninstalling and rebooting.
I've looked in BIOS to see if something there could affect
this, but I don't see anything. I've looked in windows
knowledge base, etc. Can't find anything. I have an
nForce 2 motherboard, with 2600 processor and a gig and a
half of ram. I build my own computers and do my own
support, but so far I'm baffeled. I assume because windows
in on a scsi but doesn't really know it, it thinks by cd
and dvd drives are scsi. Any thoughts? Thanks, Ken
