DV Video Isnt An Opion

How come when I go to capture video, there is no choice for me to record from my digital camera? I have my camera attached to the cords i would hook it up with to the t.v, and from that the other cord plugs into the A/V insert in the back. But i cant find anyway to get the video off my cam into Movie Maker.

Use Firewire to capture.
