I'm trying to find some people who used this product and get their opinions
on its performance. I used it on my week old fresh install of WinXP Pro and
it managed to free up more than a half gig of hard drive space and deleted
approx. 2500 useless files. My machine is still working fine, but the space
is a plus...any comments?

v2.8.2 is the latest which I've been using daily for months.

Like you, the first time I ran it on XP-SP2, it freed up ~500mb of
HDD space and initially that frightened the hell out of me - but the
system continues to operate perfectly. I now use it daily and it
typically deletes a bunch of Windows log files.

I have two criticisms of it:
1. it doesn't tell you what it's going to delete before doing so
2. there is no config option to decide what *not* to delete.

I use it on every XP comp I work on Bill, if you work backwards from
the links provided, you will be able to see what is missing from a comp
& get a pretty good idea of what Dustbuster removes.

Seems kinda dangerous to me. I have it downloaded but not installed because
of this reason. At least Ccleaner gives you the option to cut your own
throat.

I've been using it four times just after installing W2k.
The best performer as far as I've experienced.
However, after the setup I am using other alternatives in order to keep
some control on what I delete/repair.
