Hi,

Repair Windows XP, using following steps:

1. Start up the computer with the Operating System CD in
the CD-ROM drive. When prompted to start from the CD,
press any key. If you miss the message and arrive at a
blinking cursor, restart the computer and try pressing any
key again when the message appears.

8. Windows XP Setup prepares to run. If you need to
install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver, press the F6
key during startup.

9. The option for an Automated System Recovery appears
momentarily.

10. Setup loads the files necessary for the installation,
and then starts Windows.

11. The Windows XP Home Edition Setup screen appears.
Verify that the correct partition is selected, in this
case Partition 1 (NTFS). Press ENTER to set up Windows XP
on the selected item.

12. The End User License Agreement (EULA) appears. Press
the F8 key to accept the EULA.

13. Windows Setup detects a previous installation of
Windows XP. Press the R key to repair the installation.

14. A Setup screen appears briefly stating that Setup is
examining the hard drive.

15. The Windows XP Home Edition Setup screen shows the
progress of file copying.

16. Setup initializes the Windows XP configuration.

17. The Windows XP Home Edition Setup screen shows that
this portion of Setup is complete. The Operating System
CD remains in the drive, but remove any floppy disks.
Press ENTER to restart the computer or wait until the
computer restarts automatically.

18. The computer restarts. If you are prompted to "boot
from CD", do not press any keys. Allow the computer to
start uninterrupted. By "booting to CD", the setup process
starts over again.

19. The computer restarts and Windows Setup reaches the
Installing Windows phase.

20. In the Windows XP Home Setup dialog box, select I
accept this agreement, and then click Next.

21. Setup starts and continues various file copying
tasks.

22. In the Windows XP Home Edition Setup dialog box,
review the regional and language options, and then click
Next.

23. Type your full name and the name of your company or
organization, if applicable, and then click Next.

24. If necessary, type the name of your computer or
accept the default option, and then click Next.

25. Type the correct modem dialing information, and then
click Next.

26. Check the date and time settings. Type the correct
information, and then click Next.

27. If a network card is installed, the Network settings
screen appears. On the Network settings screen, select
Typical settings, then click Next.

Note: After Windows XP is installed, use the Network
Wizard to finalize settings.

28. Windows Setup continues copying files.

29. After files are copied, the computer restarts. If
you are prompted to "boot from CD", do not press any
keys. Allow the computer to start uninterrupted.
By "booting to CD", the setup process starts over again.

30. In the Display Settings dialog box, click OK.

Note: This dialog box and the following Monitor Settings
dialog box may not open, depending on the video
configuration in the computer.

31. In the Monitor Settings dialog box, click OK.

32. Setup returns to a Windows environment with a Welcome
screen. Click Next.

33. If there is a network interface controller (NIC) in
the computer, Windows XP checks for Internet connectivity
on the network.

34. On the How will this computer connect to the Internet
screen, click Skip. Use the Internet Connection Wizard
after the installation is completed.

Note: This screen only appears if there is a NIC in the
computer.

35. Windows Setup prompts you to register online.
Registration is optional. If you do not want to register
now, select No, not at this time, and then click Next. If
you choose to register at this time, registration
information is collected.

36. If a modem is installed, Windows Setup prompts you to
set up Internet access now. Select No, not at this time,
and then click Next.

37. Windows Setup needs to know who is going to use this
computer. Type the appropriate names, and then click
Next.

Note: The user names typed here appear in alphabetical
order on the Welcome screen.

38. On the Thank you screen, click Finish.

39. Windows Setup transitions to the desktop and briefly
displays a Welcome screen.

Note: If more than one user was entered on the Who will
use this computer screen, you have to choose a user to log
on.

40. The Windows XP installation is complete. The Windows
XP desktop appears. Remove the blue Operating System CD,
and then insert the red Drivers CD into the CD-ROM drive.

41. In the System Restoration Kit window, select the
Select all check box, and then click Install.

Hope this help!

Bye
Raj
