Does anyone know how outlook/windows deletes temporary files from
email attachments in the "olk" folder? Is it based upon time or upon
the space in the file? Can I lenghten/short the size or duration of
those temporary files?

Thanks!

It is based on size not on duration. You can change the size alloted for this by doing the following

Open IE (or go to the Control Panel) click Interent Options
Click - Setting under Temporary Internet Files. Adjust sizes accordingly.
