duplication and non-removal

I am writing for a friend who has Windows XP.

She says she has been removing some unwanted files and they are multiplying
in her recycle bin. Now there are over 100 files in her recycle bin and she
can not empty it. When she tries to empty she gets: No Delete. File can't be
deleted.

Can anyone give me any ideas to help her out with?
